When in doubt, spout philosophical boolsheet.

Given that my phone slept soundly through the night without a tinker, it's safe to assume the lovely room went to some other lucky gal.

As for me, well my brain has obviously decided that as I no longer cry myself to sleep, now is a brilliant time to introduce a new nightly ritual. This involves tossing and turning in bed for a couple of hours, before launching into wistful dreams of my Bastard Ex. I remember this bit from the last breakup. As if thinking about my recent downfalls during the day isn't enough, now they are paraded in front of me during sleep as well. Lovely.

Well, I won't take it personally about the room. Like, if it had been a choice between me and just one other person who happened to be, I dunno, a flesh eating monster with a seeping pustule for a nose and I still didn't get the call, then I might start to worry. But when you're up against 19 other people, there's solace in numbers.

I'm also a firm believer in that age old saying, "Everything happens for a reason". Not only is it a nice, comforting, bullshit excuse to have on-hand for when things go wrong, but it's an infallible truth. I didn't get this room, so I will probably get another. And things will come from that. Bad things, good things, a whole host of other unspecific things; everything that happens spawns its own train of events. Therefore, everything happens for a reason. You err, just have to wait for a bit to see what the reason is. Wine helps too.

And that's the end of today's life sermon.

Yeah. I think I'll stick to taking dodgy pictures on the tube.

Too true. As one door closes another door opens. And dont forget `what's meant for ye, wont pass ye by.' (etc)

Sorry you didnt get the room but as we all know we never know what's around the corner.

PS : Re. tube photo taking - I have still yet to sharpen my photographic skills on the tube (not helped by the fact that my phone comes with an exceedingly loud `camera' noise) so reliant on you for piccie entertainment. Dont let us down.

Just as long as your new nightly ritual doesn't involve any destructive behavior. No drunk dialing for you!

Londonlass - The way I see it, the worst rejection I could face has already happened, everything else is a walk in the park.

Unbearable - Fear not. I'm (still) far too sensible for that. There are some pretty lengthy, sweary draft text messages on my phone though.

I'm with you on the little nuggets of truism. They're helpful, somehow. "Everything's ok in the end; if it's not ok, it's not the end."

But yes: more tube pics, please.

(On a less facetious note, glad to hear that you're healing - the dreaming is a SHITTY stage, but it's one in the right direction.)
