Weekend fail.

London disappeared under a thick cloud of white at around 11am this morning. Not long after that, I decided that driving three hours north through areas designated a harrowing shade of orange on the Met Office website probably wasn't the most intelligent idea in the world.

I was meant to go to Manchester this weekend for the long awaited, twice rearranged meeting with my friends from uni; Jellyfish and Stingray, but given the view - or lack of it - from my office window, we went all sensible and called it off.

Then the sun came out.

So instead of catching up with some much missed mates I haven't seen in over a year, I'm at home, blogging next to a Boy who, after last night's excess, had a bath, some food, and promptly fell asleep at 9pm with a Pooh Bear clamped under his arm. Ladies and gentlemen, the Christmas party season has claimed another victim:

Conversation round this neck of the woods, as you can probably tell by Pooh's rather wide eyed stare, is riveting.

Even though the snow arrived down south and then promptly stopped I think you made the right decision.

It took me 3 1/2 hours to get from Oxfordshire to Essex yesterday, the odd snow flake on the ground means peoples driving ability just goes for s burton.

Going from London to Manchester would have been a nightmare.

Me and the Chuppies have just arrived back at his flat in Essex after have a family Christmas meal (again in Essex). When we arrived at the alloted eating house there was absolutely nothing on the ground but quarter an hour after arriving it fell out of the sky. Pretty seasonal feeling though looking out of a steamed up window with snow falling outside and a big turkey dinner in front of you ...

You definitely made the right decision though as according to a recent forecast I saw there might be more on the way (although whether this is heavy or light, snow or sleet, Essex, or London, or both, or everywhere, who knows!).

Yeaaah I know it was the right choice, just a bit annoying as was really looking forward to the weekend. Turned out thousands of people were stuck on the M6 over night so good job I didn't go!

The snow's mental - spent the day playing in the garden with the dogs. And building a snowman...

This was the perfect opportunity to draw little hearts on his cheeks with indelible marker. I hope you took it....then called him a lightweight.
